A short film with various scenes related to the Memorial Service of President Val H. Wilson (1915-1964).
From "Skidmore News," April 30, 1964:
"Val H. Wilson, President of the College, was born in Clydebank, Scotland on February 14, 1915 and came to the United States in 1920. In 1938, he received an A. B. degree, cum laude from Bates College in Lewiston, Maine. He obtained his Ph. D. degree in philosophy as a Day Fellow from Yale University in 1941...Dr. Wilson was ordained a Baptist minister in 1941 and served pastorates in North Haven, Connecticut and Morgantown, West Virginia. From 1946 to 1949, he was director of the Department of University Student and Pastors Work for the Board of Education of the American Baptist Convention in New York City. After teaching philosophy, he became administrative vice-president of Colorado Woman’s College in Denver, in 1949. The following year, he was made President of this college. He remained in that post until coming to Skidmore in 1957."
