Description
This “album” documents Carolyn E. Cole’s four years at Skidmore College, with particular emphasis on her Junior and Senior years. Comprised entirely of snapshots, the “album” provides unique views of the campus, with many images taken from the upper stories of Skidmore Hall, and has extensive personal reportage of the Installation of Officers, Sneak Day, Senior Assembly, Class Day and Commencement.
Local Note
Carolyn E. Cole, Class of 1938, was a Textiles and Costumes major from New Rochelle, NY and an active member of several campus clubs, including Riding Club, Freshmen and Sophomore Literary Group, Key (serving as President her senior year), Discussion Club and Costume Club. Her yearbook entry reads: “Calm dignity . . . adept at the gentle art of insults . . . ‘Meet you at MacFinn's at four’ . . . Sunday hair . . . deliberate, refuses to marry . . . conscientious and enthusiastic . . . never rash.”
