Description
This album documents Alice Furbish’s freshman through senior years at Skidmore College, and is comprised primarily of photographs and a few newspaper clippings. Extensive coverage is given to both her Riding and Outing Club activities – including several Horse Shows – as well as Skidmore Camp, which was held at Camp Mesacosa, Efner Lake, Corinth, NY.
Local Note
Alice Furbish, Class of 1935, was a Physical Education major from Auburndale, Massachusetts. An active student and athlete, she was a member of the College Chorus; Physical Education Club; Riding Club; Outing Club; French Club; and a member – all four years – of the Swimming, Basketball, Hockey, and Soccer Class Teams to name just a few of her pursuits. Her yearbook entry reads: “ALWAYS in a hurry, either going to teach her children or help her friends . . . variety of interests, participant in many campus activities, enthusiasm for all of them . . . reserved . . . full of fun ... a great sport in all Furb does . . . favorite interest in horses, superb rider . . . ambition to succeed in physiotherapy.”
