N1  - In this instrument of sasine from 6 September 1699, clerk and notary public William Bell recognizes the sasine presented by bailiff John Grinton in Madiston and Robert Fisher, of the new mill of Compston, on behalf of himself and his wife Helen Younger regarding lands held by John Fisher, son and heir of John Fisher of Torphichen Mill who will pay Robert an annual rent of 102 pounds Scots money.  Both John and Robert Fisher are grandsons of the deceased Robert Fisher, so are either brothers or cousins. John Fisher's spouse is named as Elizabeth Montray.<br>
N1  - The lands are part of the Crownerlands, Manuelpolis. near Almond (Haning) Castle, in Morningside (Muiravonside) parish in Stirling district (today's West Lothian).  John Grinton, Bailiff, in Madiston supervises.  Tailor David Scott of Crownerland and his two sons witness, as does a James Fisher.  <br>
N1  - There are 49 lines of text (recto) and two groups of 4 lines describing the instrument of sasine (verso). A Mr. Lindsay (first name unclear - James? Alex.r?) registers the asasine.<br>
