000002734 500__ $$aFour rectangular pieces of tan paper, folded into three overlapping layers and attached at one end to a black-and-gray houndstooth-print fabric and pasteboard cover. When unfolded, the paper forms an equal-sided cross, upon which are written diagonally the names, ages, and occupations (when known) of 26 people who died during the 2007 car bombing of Al-Mutanabbi Street. Illustrations of four columns wrapped with red thread accompany the lists of names. Second book in a series of three; "created for the 'An inventory of al-Mutanabbi Street' Project to commemorate the 2007 car bombing on al-Mutanabbi Street in Baghdad, which was the heart and soul of the Baghdad literary and intellectual community. More than 30 people were killed and more than 100 were wounded. Here is a list of some of those killed ..."--Recto of back cover. Edition of 300; signed and numbered by the author.
