A guide to higher learning was written and designed by Julie Chen. It was letterpress printed from photopolymer plates by Julie Chen and Alan Hillisheim"--Answer book colophon. Artist's book is in a cloth covered clam shell box. The interior lid contains instructions for displaying and reading the book. A folded cloth is housed on top of the book structure. The book consists of a central box surrounded by rows of square pages on all four sides. To read the book the whole assembly must be lifted from the box and placed on the center of the cloth. Each square page is numbered clockwise. The reader thus begins with page 1 on the right and continues around the structure clockwise through page 12. The "Answer book" (a single sewn signature, 8 x 8 cm.) is placed in the center of the structure. It explains the mathematical ideas, the origami patterns of Robert J. Lang, and the Ulam spiral at the center of the book. Limited edition of 100 copies.}, url = {http://digitalcoll.skidmore.edu/record/2727}, }
