Book consists of an acrylic box 19 x 14 x 7 cm., containing 9 variously sized handmade books. "B, the title of this piece is for Brooklyn--it also stands for Book ... It is a sampling of ideas by 9 young artists depicting the ethnic, cultural, historical, and natural diversities to be found in (Brooklyn)"--P. [2]. "This project came about through extended discussions between Deirdre E. Lawrence, Principal Librarian, Brooklyn Museum of Art and Werner Pfeiffer, Professor of Art, Pratt Institute"--Colophon. "All Participants are students in the Art of the Book classes in the School of Art & Design at Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, NY." Some titles given in the table of contents and on the items vary. Earth samplings by Kate Mole is a collection of sedimentary layers from different sites in Brooklyn contained in a test tube, sealed at the top with a cork ; Original photographs of Brooklyn settings by Amy Upton contains four b&w photographs. Limited to 300 numbered copies, published on the occasion of the exhibition Artist's [sic] books, part of the series Working in Brooklyn, held at the Brooklyn Museum of Art, February 3 through April 16, 2000.
